If you can get hold of one, the new T-Mobile G1 is a breath of fresh air in the smartphone market, and needless to say, high-end smartphones at mid-range prices fit well right now. That said, the T-Mobile G1 is still waiting for a couple of key software upgrades from the Android community, such as full Exchange support for road warriors. Other than that, it's pretty much the most versatile first-generation smartphone ever introduced. No wonder Microsoft is scrambling to release Windows Mobile 6.5. As you can see from the list below, Microsoft used to own this segment. Oh well, a hard kick in the ass never hurts.

There's just no excuse for this leather-clad Eee PC 901 mod. No excuse at all. No—not even the fine workmanship which means it's got an arguably professional-grade finish. A cow died needlessly for this, remember. Daisy, I think she was called. And it's just a tiny, crappy netbook. If you're going to mod anything into a leather-clad version we want to see a 150-inch plasma TV in shocking-pink nubuck. That would be a worthwhile use of skin.
